Your mission, roles and responsibilities

FORVIA is seeking a dynamic Tax Director to lead our U.S. tax function from our North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll oversee tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning across our U.S. operations and subsidiaries.  As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you’ll drive initiatives that optimize tax expense and cash flow, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all U.S. tax compliance and reporting, including ASC 740 and quarterly tax payments
  • Advise on M&A, restructuring, tax credits, and strategic planning
  • Manage audits, forecasts, and reporting to the global parent company
  • Oversee federal, state, international, and property tax filings
  • Ensure transfer pricing and intercompany fee compliance
  • Lead R&D tax credit strategy and forecasting
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance tax systems and data reporting

Your profile and competencies to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA license (required); Master’s in Tax or JD (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting and corporate tax within a global organization
  • Automotive industry experience (preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. tax law, ASC 740, IRS regulations, and R&D credits
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
