Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibilities and duties:
- Part of the management committee of the entity, the SW Manager is in charge of all SW activities worldwide, from innovation to platform development, from RFQ to project development and serial life:
- Interact with other stake holders (Innovation and Application Global projects Engineering Managers, System, HW global Department managers, departments of different BG, external suppliers, etc…)
The main missions of the role are:
- Define and implement in all SW teams WW (France, India, China), in coordination with the other SW entities of the Group (FCE/Hella), the relevant process and associated tool chain (ALM, CI, HIL, SIL,AI, dashboarding…) to achieve efficiency in development as well as lean Aspice CL2. Define and apply design review process. Manage potential subcontracting SW activities in accordance. Analyse possibility to deploy Agile methodology.
- Define in strong collaboration with the product owners the optimized SW architecture to reach the functionalities, performance, piece price objectives. Achieve competitive development effort thanks to reuse through transversal platform approach, reusable functions and MBD. Safety and Cybersecurity goals should be achieved as well.
- Make SW competitive quotations for RFQ, customer presentations and pilote SW developments of embedded SW achieving project and customer milestones and R&D budget. Ensure proper design justification, traceability and test coverage.
- Capitalize experience and lesson learned, through standards and design reviews, in strong collaboration with other Group entities (FCE/Hella).
Ensure, thanks to Design Reviews, the strict application of standards in every development WW. Manage DR scheduling and follow-up. - Pilot the hiring, training, of the different teams. Create a positive and collaborative atmosphere, focus on technical excellence and lesson learned.
- Contribute to the strategic plan concerning people and competencies, as well as Expert roadmap and nomination
Context
- A significant part of the SW activities is currently subcontracted. Internal development capabilities should be improved and developed. We need a strong leader to set and pilot this new entity and reinternalize SW design. Background in embedded SW and automotive required, as well as management experience (hierarchical and functional).
- This position is located in Paris 12ème, with frequent travels in the different sites.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
- Qualifications: Minimum education level: Engineering degree
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Embedded Software development. Auto industry is mandatory.
