Your mission, roles and responsibilities
As part of the Sales Organization within the SSED division, the Business Development Manager drives customer-focused sales strategies and enhances the overall customer experience. Working closely with Account Sales Managers, the role supports business growth, market intelligence, and competitive positioning to deliver profitable growth and strengthen customer relationships across Europe.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Market Performance Monitoring
With support from the BG Marketing team:
- Monitor and analyze SSED market performance KPIs.
- Assess market share evolution and competitive positioning.
- Benchmark competitors and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain market price databases and analytical tools.
- Define and implement customer performance KPIs and reporting systems.
2. Customer Strategy Development
- Develop customer-specific strategies with Account Managers, aligned with the SSED Strategic Plan.
- Ensure product line roadmaps meet customer needs and market expectations.
- Identify new business opportunities, growth areas, and value creation potential.
- Build action plans to penetrate new segments and strengthen strategic partnerships.
3. Promotion Plan & Customer Experience Deployment
- Plan and execute customer promotion initiatives (Tech Days, demos, events) supporting RFQ and pre-development activities.
- Manage promotion projects, including planning, organization, and follow-up.
- Develop customer experience tools and secure related budgets:
- On-site: Tech Forums, plant visits.
- Online: Digital platforms, applications.
- Prepare standard presentations and marketing materials to support customer engagement.
4. Business Development & Networking
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong industry network.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert opportunities into profitable business
