Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The Stamping Specialist will support product & process development and improvement; validate product innovations; lead development and deployment of process standards; design and implement checklist/guidelines and best practices; support programs, plants and suppliers on product and process issues; possess thorough knowledge and mentor peers on optimization of stamping products, equipment, assembly processes; have the ability to diagnose and resolve set-up issues.The main missions of the role are to:

Specialist main responsibilities - Product: 

•  Provide direction and technical support to PDLs and Product Specialists/Experts on stamping programs, ensuring robust product design supported by simulations. 
•  Integrate the latest technologies, innovations, and best practices into stamping designs. 
•  Lead and contribute to design reviews, ensuring use of generics to optimize cost and manufacturability. 
•  Support acquisition programs using the Stamping Assessment Sheet to evaluate risks, feasibility, process recommendations, supplier suitability, and complexity ratings. 
•  Address design and testing issues and support root-cause analysis activities. 
•  Deliver training on stamping products and processes to the engineering community. 
•  Collaborate with Purchasing to support supplier technical meetings and capability evaluations. 
•  Provide technical support to Program Teams, customers, and suppliers. 
•  Evaluate and approve or reject DCS deviations. 
•  Work with cross-functional teams (CAE, testing, materials, etc.) to strengthen correlation between analytical models and physical testing, improving analytical confidence.

Specialist main responsibilities - Process: 

•    Support Purchasing, Program Team and Supplier Quality in evaluation of suppliers quoted stamping processes in relation to DFM&A print requirements through use of “Tool Biography”. 
•  Approve or reject supplier processes from Pre-Award through Design and PPAP. 
•  Maintain and evolve the Stamping Tool Database for benchmarking, cost comparison, and supplier performance tracking. 
•  Ensure technical evaluations are incorporated into sourcing decisions. 
•  Define initial stamping process concepts using the Stamping Assessment Sheet during acquisition. 
•  Identify and deploy process best practices across NAO to drive continuous improvement in processes and T&E (Tooling & Equipment). 
•  Define T&E specifications for RFQs aligned with stamping concepts. 
•  Support production plants and suppliers in resolving process-related issues. 
•  Assist in evaluating deviations and validating Engineering Change Management modifications. 
•  Provide feedback on new program needs based on plant lessons learned and current status. 
•  Suggest improvements or validate assumptions made by Product Specialists on stamping concepts. 
•  Support MVP (Manufacturing Validation Process) and FCM academy training activities. 
•  Develop and approve standards supporting continuous improvement and process standardization. 
•  Support T&E Coordinators during design reviews and tool run-offs. 
•  Evaluate and approve or reject DCS deviations and key process factor deviations. 
•  Lead or support root-cause analysis on process issues.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

  • The ideal candidate will have/be:

    • BS MET required or minimum 10 years of stamping exhaust manufacturing experience
    • Proven technical skills on process and product, in his/her field of competencies.
    • Strong communication skills, ability to structure and capitalize know-how through networking capabilities.
    • International mindset.
    • English required. Spanish and French preferred.
