Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Our IT department - Global Information Technologies (GIT) Department is looking for a Customer Flows – EDI Integration SAP Business Analyst, to be preferably based in Santa Maria da Feira (Portugal).

The role of the Customer Flows & EDI Integration Business Analyst (CfEiBa) is to design and support the implementation of new customer flows within the SAP Forvia Core Systems (FCS), ensuring efficient EDI configuration, enhancements, and maintenance of existing integrations. As an internal consultant for customer flows and EDI and as a key member of the GIT Supply Chain Logistics organization, and more specifically within the Customer Flows & EDI Integration team, you will provide third-level support for EDI integration in SAP FCS and lead functional activities in customer flows implementation projects.

 

Main Missions and Results:

Act as internal SAP–EDI-Outbound Logistic expert for your functional domain: lead, support, and enhance customer flows and EDI integrations, customer forms, poka-yokes, customer labels within SAP FCS in close collaboration with business and technical teams.

Your responsibilities include:

 

Support & Integration:

  • Provide third-level support for EDI integration issues in SAP FCS, including message integration errors, outbound message issues, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with L2 support teams, FCS rollout teams, central departments, and especially Sales and Finance business analysts.
  • Define and support the implementation of new SAP customer flows across plants using SAP FCS.
  • Manage and write EDI mapping specifications (EDI X-Ref) for existing and new EDI flows.
  • Execute and validate EDI mapping tests.
  • Support EDI homologation processes with customers in collaboration with the EDI Competence Center.
  • Train second-level support teams when required.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, guidelines, and procedures related to customer flows and EDI.
  • Track activities and report project progress.
  • Manage RFCs (Requests for Change) related to SAP (FCS) and EDI mappings.

 

Project Activities:

  • Conduct fit/gap analysis for customer flow and EDI integration requirements.
  • Support functional arbitration for enhancement requests and escalate to Process Owners when necessary.
  • Prepare functional and technical specifications for SAP standard processes and EDI changes.
  • Perform integration testing.
  • Support key users during business simulation and provide training.
  • Contribute to cutover planning and preparation.
  • Support Go‑Live execution and post Go‑Live activities.
  • Report progress to project and domain management teams.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

  • A Master’s degree in Information Technologies or a similar field, with at least 5 years of professional experience in IT.
  • Minimum 3 to 5+ years of experience in SAP, EDI, and SD domains; basic knowledge of MM/PP/FI is appreciated.
  • Strong functional/technical knowledge of SAP ECC and EDI integration, ideally in the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of business processes such as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Finance.
  • High-level knowledge of EDI standards (EDIFACT, VDA, X.12 is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international environment, translating complex technical topics into user‑friendly communication.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Self‑driven, well‑organized, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and execute tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Customer‑oriented mindset with strong delivery and quality focus.
  • Experience in project management or project mode is appreciated
  • Experience in automotive business processes is a strong plus.
  • ABAP knowledge is an additional advantage.
  • S4 SAP HANA knowledge is a plus.
