Europe Commodity Manager Chemicals

Forvia Interiors is looking for a Europe Commodity Manager Chemicals to be based in his R&D Center in Méru.

Role Purpose
The Europe Commodity Manager Chemicals is responsible for defining, implementing and driving the purchasing strategy for the chemicals commodity perimeter in Europe.
The role aims to secure a competitive, reliable and sustainable supplier base, while ensuring alignment with business needs, technical requirements, quality expectations, supply continuity and financial performance objectives.
The position acts as the key purchasing interface for chemicals-related topics in Europe, working closely with global purchasing teams, suppliers, operations, quality, engineering, finance and program teams.

Key Missions

Define and implement the European commodity strategy for chemicals.
Manage the supplier panel, including selection, performance follow-up and rationalization.
Lead sourcing activities, RFQs, negotiations and contract implementation.
Deliver purchasing performance objectives: savings, competitiveness, payment terms and cash improvement.
Monitor market trends, raw material evolution, supply risks and regulatory impacts.
Secure supply continuity through risk identification, mitigation plans and supplier escalation management.
Work with cross-functional teams to support technical, operational and business requirements.
Ensure supplier compliance with purchasing processes, internal policies and applicable regulations.
Support sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives related to chemicals.
Prepare regular reporting on commodity performance, risks, savings and action plans.

Experience

5 to 8 years of experience in purchasing, commodity management or supplier management.
Experience in chemicals, raw materials or industrial purchasing is strongly appreciated.
Experience in an international industrial or automotive environment is a plus.

Education

Master’s degree or equivalent level in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.

Key Competencies

Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
Good understanding of commodity strategy and sourcing processes.
Strong analytical skills, especially on cost, market trends and supplier competitiveness.
Ability to manage risks, priorities and business escalations.
Strong coordination with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance and Program teams.
Structured, rigorous and result-oriented mindset.
Fluent English required; another European language is a plus.
