Your mission, roles and responsibilities

We’re hiring an HSE Manager.
Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for an HSE Manager for its manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, IN to perform, organize, and plan health, safety and environmental (HSE) activities required to keep company in compliance with government laws and regulations and best management practices. Responsible for coordinating the environmental management system for ISO 14001.  
 
You’ll work on challenges that matter.
This job will require you to:

•    Lead Workers Compensation case management with tasks that include working with insurance companies and medical personnel to reduce Workers Compensation costs, identifying ‘light duty’ jobs for Early and Safe return to Work programs, and maintaining communications with company personnel away from work.
•    Manage all environmental functions, activities, policies, and directions; develop, implement and maintain ISO 14001 certification programs.
•    Drive HSE QRCI incident investigation.
•    Perform duties as ISO14001 Lead Assessor.
•    Provide engineering support to ensure new equipment safety design, new process evaluations, new chemical evaluations, and life safety codes.
•    Measure and analyze Health and Safety performance factors that impact company business.
•    Prepare regulatory compliance documentation and maintain accurate filing system. Provide prompt and accurate preparation and composition of correspondence, documents and reports, including those with confidential information.
•    Develop, implement, revise and evaluate health and safety programs that meet and exceed OSHA requirements.  Provide training for all health and safety programs to ensure continual improvement of safety performance.
•    Adhere to the Code of Ethics.
•    Adhere to the Code of Management.
•    Acting CO2/Energy Consumption Manager.
•    Acting Security Manager (with support FES&P Engineer and FES&P VIE if needed )
•    Coordinate/perform and document sampling for storm water and air emissions, calibrate and operate field-test equipment. Perform personal exposure monitoring in accordance with applicable standards such as all industrial hygiene functions and ergonomic evaluations.
•    Lead ergonomic activities in the plant, safety audits, and maintain plant visibility with gap members.
•    Meet with EPA, OSHA, and other government officials as needed to address ongoing environmental and safety issues.
•    Coordinate health and safety compliance to TS16949 Standards for the Faurecia facility.
•    Facilitate the HSE Core Teams and coordination of Health, Safety and Environment Orientations for new employees.
•    Coordinate all Fire Protection efforts to include sprinkler system testing and inspection, fire extinguisher / emergency lighting testing and inspection and ensure facility maintains compliance with all applicable NFPA Codes.
•    Practice and enforce 5S standards.
•    Participate in Hoshin activities as assigned by management.
•    Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as assigned by management.
•    Stay informed of environmental aspects, follow procedures and work to eliminate or reduce the FMEA ratings as relates to position and/or department.
•    Purchase material as required to complete safety tasks.
•    Action assignments as required to eliminate or reduce PPM’s and RPPM’s.
•    Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate.
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred.
•    Minimum 3 - 5 years professional HSE site experience within a manufacturing environment.
•    Operational knowledge of production methods (Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM, etc.).
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•    Proven track record in upholding and improving safety and quality standards.
