Your mission, roles and responsibilities

We are looking for an Industrial Designer Intern to join our teams!

As a member of the Global Industrial Design Team at FORVIA SEATING, you will have the opportunity to work closely with car manufacturers, developing your industrial design skills by converting concepts through feasibility towards production, ideate on the user experience for seating and the impact on the whole car environment though innovations.

You'll work on challenges that matter

• You will be actor in the process of breakthrough innovation and strategic roadmap of that innovation and acquire valuable package knowledges in seating.
• You will also leverage your curiosity about sustainability as key factor for the automotive industry future.
• The Designer will be mentored by the Design Manager and the Senior Industrial Designers with experience at car manufacturers to achieve design excellence and reach the level of expectation of the automotive market. We will provide the necessary input/ training/ guidance that will lead you towards FORVIA`s expected level of design.
• You will develop your skills in project management being supported on creating the necessary projects requirements: Schedules/ Milestones/ Objectives/ Deliverables/ Budget.
• The Designer must work in interaction with his fellow designers in the field of Perceived Quality, Color-Material-Finishing & Digital Design as well as with other departments such as Engineering, Sales, Innovation, Marketing, Cockpit of the Future & Incubators.
• He is expected to make proactive proposals reflecting trends in automotive and other product ranges, shows awareness of technologies, materials & processes and is able to work with experts in small teams.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate should have/be:

• Niveau bac +4
• Visual & verbal communication skills. Sketches, 2D Illustrations (Photoshop), Storytelling, 3D Softwares (Maya, Alias or equivalents).
• Has a high sensitivity to design, creative, innovative, curious and structured in its way of thinking.
• Team worker, motivated and most importantly proactive.
• Autonomous, professional, and liking to get challenges.
• Skilled in English, French or German is a plus.
