Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibilities and duties:
The Manufacturing Engineer is in charge of the complete development of tools and processes to reach FIS targets of Quality, Cost, and Delivery within FCP & PMS requirements and to deliver components according to drawings/specifications
The main missions of the role are:
Series production
- Procurement of manufacturing equipment under consideration of demanded security, quality and environmental protection and their preservation
- Equipment & tooling follow-up
- Update manufacturing routines and work instructions
- Keep processes (machines, tools, procedures) at best possible level in compliance with HSE regulations and QCD
- Participate to the plant PDP
- Implement the standard process of tool development (FCP instructions) along PMS phase
- Build, update & monitor the complete timing plan for tools and processes to reach SOP in time.
- Build, update & monitor the progress of tool & process convergence to targets
- Reports progress through standard document described in FCP instruction
- Anticipate & manage the necessary support in terms of expertise or simulation when needed
- (PoC, CAE, Purchasing, Logistics, Program, PML, PDL)
- Capitalize experience on the development through lessons learnt process & KM creation within his Technology Engineering Domain
- Defines tools & process specificities & targets (FCP document)
- Ensure product feasibility by existing state of the art and standards in tools & process
- Participation to the RFQ and tool maker selection process
- Commit to necessary steps to kick off tool (SNC, Kick Off, Pre-Study, Study)
- Translate product key characteristics into process parameters.
- Lead Tool FMEA if any.
- Lead grain mapping activity with grain supplier, toolmaker and customer for visible grained parts.
- Track progress and convergence of all necessary entry data to keep Quality, Cost, Delivery in line with initial plan
- Raise & implement all actions defined after each trial to reach Quality, Cost, Delivery in line with initial plan
- Ensure all checks & R@R at plant
- Ensure transfer of proper documentation to the plant together with the tool
- Update and finalize the tool follow up documentation to prepare Lessons learned process
- Raise program LL, potential KM or standard update or creation proposal
- Give process inputs to Pilot Plant through standard documentation.
- Ensure conformity of the produced part versus the product specification defined by Product Line, through process parameters optimization.
- Support appearance approval for the engineering team (on new and aged parts)
Continuous improvement process
Support the continuous improvement process in following:
- Labor
- Quality
- Equipment and tooling
- Space
- Work conditions
Reporting:
- Manage ME key indicators (TRS: change over, cycle time, reliability…)
- Comply and reinforce the Code of Management and Code of Ethics as it applies within the perimeter of Manufacturing
- To uphold and reinforce the Code of Ethics and the Code of Management as it applies within Manufacturing
- Comply with and reinforce the appropriate Code of Ethics as it applies to the protection of Manufacturing related documents
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum education level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in production or mechanical engineering
Professional Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the auto industry
Skills and competencies
- Trained in Faurecia Excellence System and Program Management System
- Basic financial skills (costing, budget, investment)
- Leadership skills
- Ability to interface with other functions - Networking capabilities.
- International mindset
- Proficient level of English required
- Computer literacy
- Business Minded
- Strong teamwork sense
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
