Position Title: YES HSE Graduate
Location: Pretoria (Rosslyn)
Deapartment: Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
Reporting to: Plant HSE (Pretoria) & Country HSE Manager
Contract: 12 Months Contact
Closing Date: 17 March 2026
Main purpose of the role
The YES HSE Graduate will be responsible for guiding management regarding HSE processes and requirements to ensure legal compliance per legislation and the application of the Group’s HSE policy, procedures and systems.

As a HSE Graduate, your main responsibilities are as follow:
- Assist in collecting data for FR1T, FR2T 9 (Incident reporting and investigation) etc and report such on a monthly basis to HSE Manager.
- Monitor and manage the distribution of Transversal memos throughout the plant and ensure that they are signed and recorded both on the system and in the file and actions have been closed.
- Encourage and enforce reporting of all incidents using the near miss/ incident report process
- Conduct Daily Audits and follow a set Gemba tour.
- Assist in facilitating training sessions and provide training where needed within the plant.
- Facilitate committee meetings throughout the year.
- Taking of minutes during HSE Committee meetings.
- Monitor HSE & Security PDCA’s.
- Assist in conducting Audits in all areas of the plant including ISO 14001 & 45001 Audits.
- Monitor and manage the use of general PPE in all areas of the plant.
- Prepare filing and ensure that document control is also respected and followed on a daily basis.
- Handle IOD enquiries from Department of Labour
- Issue permits where needed on the line
- Handle and manage contractor permits SSW.
- Manage and continue to improve the current HSE Training centre
- Assist in all other issues related to HSE that may not be specified in the job description
- Report all HSE & Security related inconsistencies to HSE & Security Manager on a daily basis
- Administer and manage HSE improvement ideas submitted
- Coordinate and manage clinic activities
- Coordinate and maintain FES Requirements

Qualifications and position requirements:
Minimum Qualification requirements:
- National diploma in Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering or National diploma equivalent qualification in HSE Management / Environmental Health / Environmental Management or relevant field.
The ideal gradaute should have:
- Knowledge of HSE tools and methods: 5 why methodology, Work Instructions, audits, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Proven written and oral communication skills at all levels with good coordination abilities
- Established teamwork principles with outstanding business operational ethics
- 0 - 1 years of experience in a HSE capacity.
- Age between 18-35
- Never been registerd with the Y.E.S Youth Program before.
- Able to speak, write and read english.
