Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Main Mission

 

The Traffic Manager is functionally responsible for leading the operations across North America,

This role ensures execution of budgets, performance targets, and proper use of transportation resources, while driving efficiency, cost control, and strategic freight initiatives with high operational and financial impact.

 

Transportation Strategy & Operations

  • Provide functional leadership for North America transportation operations across the Bussines unit.
  • Execute the freight strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation budgets, performance targets, and governance standards.
  • Drive centralization of freight operations and process standardization.
  • Act as the main escalation point for critical transportation issues.

 

Efficiency & Cost Optimization

  • Ensure proper mode selection and effective use of transportation resources.
  • Monitor and improve key efficiency metrics, including:
    • Truck Filling Rate
    • Network and capacity utilization
    • Cost per shipment and cost per unit
  • Lead active cost recovery initiatives and ongoing freight cost control.

 

Carrier Management & Performance

  • Define, monitor, and continuously improve carrier performance KPIs.
  • Lead carrier performance reviews, escalations, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure service, cost, and compliance expectations are consistently met.

Special Freight Projects

  • Lead special freight projects, including:
    • Validation processes
    • Cost control and tracking
    • E4P deployment and execution
  • Ensure projects deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, and efficiency.

 

Cross-Functional & Strategic Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for XBG initiatives led by NWD and Sustainability teams.
  • Act as the main interface with the Ignition team for new freight and transportation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Sustainability to ensure strategic alignment.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Experience in operations, especially in supply chain,
  • Multi-functional & Multi-cultural communication, foreign experience a plus
  • Minimum bi-lingual (English required)
  • Lean Management and industrial experience in complex environments
  • Network animation, coaching and influencing/persuasion skills
  • Developed communication skills, ability to negotiate mainly internally and often at higher levels
  • Continuous improvement mind-set
  • Ability to master change
  • Problem Diagnosis and analytic skills to understand contexts and define/support the definition of action plans
