Your mission, roles and responsibilities
The role of the Route Engineer is to continuously focus on productivities and improve transport spent, thanks to analysis done frequently with support of tools available.
The main missions of the role are:
- Flow analysis : Route Engineer should explore company transport network on daily basis. Should be able to collect data from different sources (SAP, TMS, Excel, Palantir, BI reports) and prepare output with defined impact on Transport Costs / Inventory & Cash / additional costs (calculation and reduction of Gap to Ultimate freight cost / look for the optimum supply chain cost). Continuous truck filling rate follow up.
- Productivity workshops : Organization, preparation & leading of workshops (with data gahtering & analysis). Presentation of ideas to P&T management / plants & PC&L division management. Preparation of an action plan for all defined actions and follow up.
- Follow up of implemented actions & Reporting : Productivity trackers usage to follow up performance of implemented actions. Ensuring that actions declared as IMPLEMENTED are still valid. Reporting of actions to the plants. Validation of savings with plants (PC&L Mgr, Plant Mgr, Plant Controller).
- Team work & cooperation : cooperation with high number of stakeholders (multi BG scope), personal presentation of actions.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
The ideal candidate will have/be.
- Master's degree in logistics or supply-chain management or equivalent
- 2 years experience in operations, especially in logistic or supply-chain management
Skills and competencies
- English + native language (+ other languages as a plus)
- Multi-functional & Multi-cultural communication, overseas experience a plus
- SAP and TMS tools knowledge
- Team spirit / Autonomy / Openness to new ideas / Resiliency
- Network animation and influencing/persuasion skills
- Developed communication skills, ability to negotiate mainly internally
- Ability to lead workshops (plants, divisions)
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Problem Diagnosis and analytic skills to understand contexts and define/support the definition of action plans
- Continuous improvement mind-set
Travel
- Ability to travel within the P&T region, 15% to 30%
