Your mission, roles and responsibilities
The US Customs Specialist will lead customs activities for Faurecia in the US and Canada, ensuring full compliance with customs laws and regulations.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
- Help to define and Manage customs strategy with the Customs Manager NAO
- Develop and maintain a Service Level Agreement with the divisions.
- Define and Implement policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and carry out audits, to verify customs compliance according to the applicable legislation.
- Support the development of tools to support customs compliance.
- Provide training to divisions and other departments regarding processes and procedures that need to be followed to ensure compliance.
- Perform internal audits of customs related processes.
- Supports audits of suppliers regarding compliance with Faurecia procedures.
- Advise the company stakeholders in the Group of changes in import or export laws or regulations, import or export restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements, quotas and other customs related matters.
- Understanding of US rules on international sanctions and the EAR (US regulations governing dual-use items).
- Oversee government audits and Customs and Border Protections inquiries as lead representative of Faurecia.
- Manage border petitions.
- Manage powers of attorney, automated clearinghouse, and bonds.
- Monitors trade programs.
- Manage external expert support along with the NAO Customs Manager (e.g. Copperhill, Buckland, etc.).
- Manage customs broker issues at a macro level (e.g. drive consistency in divisions).
- Administrate and enhance the certification initiatives (e.g. CTPAT, ISA) and liaise with the relevant authorities in both countries.
- Take lead role in free trade zone control issues.
- Participate in key sector professional organizations to ensure proper legal watch and relay the needs of the company in customs and trade.
- Manage refunds, tariffs payments and inquiries from the divisions.
