Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibilities and duties:
- Ensure the product's development: Adherence of quality methods, keep the development plan up to date, ensure timely completion of each work package, define and supervise work packages of Technical Development.
- Coordination and execution of engineering functional milestone reviews
- Build and monitor Program Master Schedule. Apply Program Management System (with successful and on time achievement of work packages, mandatory deliverables and key program milestones)
- Achieve program targets through development & deployment of program roadmaps and cascade program objectives and assignments to team members & all internal métiers
- Identify risks and opportunities. Ensure risk management and alert process.
- Arbitrate top issues internally or externally within the program
- Prepare the monthly Development Program Reviews
- Manage necessary changes as well as coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal metiers
- Ensure customer (internal / external) satisfaction (timing, quality and product performance)
- Meet financial program targets (Budget vs actual)
- Support the building of the Business Plan and to meet program cost recovery targets
- Mandatory Design Kick-off at the beginnning of the program (align with Scope, org chart, timing, Milestones etc)
- Program delivery planning and execution. Concept design, Master sections
- Functional drawings
- Maintain team level SLI and discuss with SPDE for open points
- Ensure overall product “Design for Performance” (including implementation into CAD of inputs with regard to results of simulation, tests and validation to meet performance criteria) with development engineering team, if needed.
- Identify training needs for the team members based on their skill matrix
The main missions of the role are:
- The System Architect is responsible for the technical concept, technical feasibility and customer specification fulfilment of a new product
- They are in charge of the complete engineering (product) of the program plus budget planning and achievement.
- They are in charge of the Program mode from Innovation Fueling till launch of the product for Innovations.
- Manages international/global programs or local, rated medium complexity
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Engineering degree.
Experience :
- Engineering degree, or significant professional experience
- Total minimum 10 years experience of which at least 6 years of relevant experience in new product design (innovation) in automotive Seating.
- Experience of upward management reporting preferred
- English required, and customer’s language strongly encouraged
- Able to work in a multicultural environment.
- Significant experience on design of complete Seat products and innovations
- Should know innovation and product launch life cycle.
- Having experience of innovation development.
- Team handling experience.
Skills and competencies :
- Knowledge and experience of Innovation development cycle management
- Knowledge about Intellectual property management (good to have)
- Knowledge and interest in new technologies
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements. ( ECE,FMVSS, ADR, AIS etc..)
- knowledge of Safety,Comfort,Packaging and Environment layouts.
- Thorough experience in Design and developement in required domain , i.e. Seatings.
- Knowledge of assigned program timing and deliverables at each milestone
Knowledge of program standards, tools and methods. like Tolerance stack, DFMEA, CAE, DVP, Test planning
- Problem solving techniques. Exposure to A3, 8D and QRCI.
- Strategic and analytical capabilities.
- Shall able to conduct Design reviews with other departments and maintain SLI.
- Able to support and train others in Leadership skills, Behaviors alignment, Communication skills, Presentation skills.
