Your mission, roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive EDA Softwares Administrator to join our IT Applications team. (EDA stands for Electronic Design Automation)
You will be responsible for providing daily support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving ECAD-related issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our design softwares. The ECAD Administrator will play a critical role in standardizing and optimizing ECAD Softwares installations and architecture accross our enterprise. This includes managing and maintaining a set of EDA softwares environment with a first focus on Cadence and driving best practices for deployment,usage, data management, and collaboration. 

Her/His main missions are to:

  • Hands-on expertise with the EDA softwares suite, including Cadence (AllegroX, Orcad), Zuken Suite, Omnya.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong initiative and self-directed attitude with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in designing  PCB, principles to manage symbols and footprint, working with a PLM is a plus to support the designers teams
  • Coordinate EDA solutions set-up with IT constraints of a distributed environments (Network, Cybersecurity, Cloud, VDI, Vault management, Licenses …)
  • Provide daily support to end-users for all ECAD software across the enterprise.
  • Plan and manage EDA Softwares implementations and upgrades, including configuration, maintenance, and user support.
  • Ensure with Electronics Design Leaders the standardization of ECAD solutions and processes across the enterprise.
  • Develop, document, and enforce ECAD IT set-up and administration standards,  and best practices to ensure consistent set-ups across the enterprise
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and IT teams to optimize ECAD data workflows, improve collaboration, and support project delivery.
  • Conduct training sessions within IT and create user documentation to promote Local IT knowledge on ECAD support
  • Support integration efforts between ECAD software and other enterprise systems (i.e. PLM TeamCenter, Footprint & Symbols DB, Orcad synchronication between all plantsetc.).

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Education level:   Bachelor / Master’s degree in IT Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience working as a designer in Cadence, knows the functionality of software as well as knowledge of PCB designing and processes around it.
  • Knowledge of IT administration for Cadence is mandatory. Need to understand technical and functional needs.
  • Zuken experience is added advantage.

  • Define with the electronics designers the software standards
  • Manage technical architecture and set-up of mechatronics softwares in coordination with user community, vendors and other IT teams
  • Ensure technical administration, define the solution set-up and define the packaging to facilitate the distribution in the plants
  • Set-up interfaces with 3rd party solutions (ex Electronics database with PLM, with Simulation tools …)
  • Ensure Level 3 support on technical issues
  • Create, maintain and communicate related documentation of each applications
  • Provide KPI of applications usage
  • Drives continuous improvement in his/her area
  • Knowledge of electronics product development principles (PCB design principles, MBSE methodology applied to electronic product …)
  • Autonomous, and capable to work in an international team (Group IT, Software suppliers, local IT teams, key users)
  • Problem solving skills; identifies problems; determines relevant information; uses reason to generate and evaluate alternatives and determine course of action
  • Fluent english

 

IT Admin skills

  • Already experienced technical admin of EDA Softwares Cadence (AllegroX, Orcad), Zuken, Omnya
  • Windows OS
  • API development
  • SQL langage
  • Containers technologies and devops (Docker, KBS, Ansible,  …)
  • Understand concepts and mechanisms of Product BOM / Software BOM
