Job title: Plant Quality & Warranty Engineer

Main mission:
A warranty engineer investigates product failures, analysis warranty claims, and collaborates with suppliers and internal teams to implement corrective actions and improve product liability.
Overall responsibilities and duties:
o Claim Management: Review, validate and process warranty claims monitoring customer portals and tracking accuracy.
o Failure & Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose product defects and perform structured problem-solving (such as 8D, 5Why, or Ishikawa methods)
o Supplier & Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the technical bridge between manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and external suppliers to recover costs of non-quality (NQC) and drive corrective fixes.
o Reporting & KPIs: Track key performance indicators for warranty costs, claim turnaround times, and failure trends to generate daily, weekly, or monthly performance reports.
o Represent customer requirements internally
o Assist with the achievement of Quality objectives and monitor progress
o Monitor adherence of activities to the control plan and standard work instructions, initiate corrections if necessary.
o Active participation in QRCI activity
o Ensure compliance with all safety/regulation standards
o Assist where relevant the Customer Engineer to Preparation of documentation and customer feedback on quality problems/complaints
o Interrupt the manufacturing or the delivery of products when Quality is not assured.
o Authorised to stop the line when not meeting the quality standards.
o Act as a key interface to customers on warranty-related topics This is a hands-on role with real ownership, visibility, and impact on customer satisfaction.
o Direct contact with key stakeholders — both internally and externally.
o Manage warranty parts and inventory, including labelling, tracking, and sending technical requests to manufacturers when needed .
o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repeated failures and enhance product quality .
o Support local quality groups and production teams with timely analysis and recommendations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
o Minimum education level: Degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial engineering/ quality sciences.
Experience:
o Typically, 2–4 years in automotive warranty, aftersales, or technical service; experience with OEM warranty systems is advantageous.
o Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and competencies:
Strong understanding of Interior systems product-specific technical expertise.
o Analytical and diagnostic skills to evaluate warranty claims and identify root causes.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
o Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
o Ability to work independently or in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
o Competent interpretation of technical specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
o Knowledge of measurement
o Understanding of manufacturing processes
o Negotiation skills
o Ability to present data effectively
