Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Essential responsibilities and duties

The Senior optic bonding process engineer executes the process strategy defined at the BU or R&D level and is responsible for process performance, material qualification, and equipment development within the division.

The main missions of the role are:

    • Lead process development and optimization for optical bonding (LOCA, OCA, Slide coating) in automotive display modules.
    • Manage material selection, validation, and introduction.
    • Collaborate with equipment vendors to evaluate and co-develop customized lamination solutions and automation.
    • Analyse and resolve manufacturing issues during pilot run & mass production; implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Support new product introduction (NPI) and cross-functional technical transfer projects.
    • Prepare corresponding standardized technical documents

 

 

Qualifications  

    • Bachelor’s degree or above in Optoelectronics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in optical lamination; automotive display background is a strong plus.
    • Strong knowledge of optic materials (LOCA/OCA) and lamination equipment.
    • Experience in material validation (e.g., reliability testing, peel strength, optical performance, etc.).
    • Hands-on experience in equipment development or integration (e.g., vacuum bonding, dispensing, High dust-free equipment, etc.).
    • Familiar with process improvement methodologies such as FMEA, DOE.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; able to work in an international team.
    • The role requires frequent collaboration with global cross-functional teams, including overseas R&D and manufacturing sites. Candidates must be open to regular international business travel to support product development, process transfer, and vendor coordination.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with advanced applications like freeform, curved, HUD displays systems.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Minimum education level 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in production or mechanical engineering

Professional Experience 

  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the auto industry

Skills and competencies

  • Technically skilled on product and process design, such as FMEA, TAKT time, and ergonomics
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • International mindset, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • English required, other languages are a plus
