The main missions of the role are to:          

    • Realize the Function and Datum Trees, coordinate the translation of Process Reference Points in datum (necessary to define the component drawings) in association with the PML, PDL, Product Specialists and DFM&A Specialist.
    • Ensure the consistency between the Process Functional Analysis, Product and Process definitions.
    • Define the tool concept and support the proper release of the specification for RFQ.
    • Support the PML (Program Manufacturing Leader) in activities linked to Tooling and define proper timing of completion to satisfy the program milestones.
    • Define upstream tooling supported by process specialist.
    • Advice the technical choices and propose solutions.
    • Participate actively to the TMD (Tooling and Machine Design).
    • Propose improvements in the process as per the result of Tolerance Analysis and Torch Access simulations to maximize the capability.
    • Write the Tooling concepts.
    • Manage or participate at the tooling design validation with PML, PPIC (Product and Process Industrial Center), IPL (Industrial program Leader) and Plant team.
    • Support the modifications defined during the set-up period until PT. (Production Trial)

A DFM&A Engineer is responsible to define the tool concept for Tooling; Leak Tester, Control Gauge, Weld tooling and downstream processes at FCM-NAO.
