Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Overall responsibilities and duties:

To ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws and maintain healthy and productive labor relations between the company and its employees, as well as with unions and labor authorities, through the prevention and resolution of labor conflicts, proper application of internal policies, and expert labor law guidance.

The main missions of the role are:

  • Ensure compliance with Mexican Federal Labor Law (Ley Federal del Trabajo), individual and collective labor agreements, internal work regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage and maintain union relations, including collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and renewals.
  • Handle and resolve labor conflicts, employee complaints, internal investigations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate employee terminations, resignations, and dismissals in accordance with applicable labor legislation.
  • Represent the company before labor authorities (Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration, Labor Courts, Ministry of Labor – STPS).
  • Prepare documentation and participate in conciliation hearings, labor proceedings, and lawsuits, in coordination with external legal counsel.
  • Develop and implement labor risk prevention strategies to minimize legal exposure.
  • Train managers and HR teams on labor law, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Monitor changes in labor regulations and ensure timely implementation within the organization.
  • Support internal and external labor audits.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Specialized studies or certification in Labor Law are preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in labor relations, preferably in medium to large organizations.
  • Experience in unionized environments and collective bargaining is highly desirable.
  • Mexican labor legislation and employment law compliance.
  • Collective and individual labor agreements.
  • Labor authority procedures and litigation processes.
  • STPS regulations and social security systems (IMSS, INFONAVIT).
  • Labor metrics and legal documentation management.
