Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The Health, Safety and Environment Specialist must be experienced person in related processes of health, safety and enviornment, as risk prevention and mitigation, including the development of preventive safety measures and environmental following. Appliance of the regulations regarding health (ergonomic included), safety and environment (water, chemicals and waste), including Forvia policies and rules is part of the responsibilities. The attention and fulfillment of the Group and plant objectives as a support of the management is one of the main roles.

The main missions of the role are:

• Root Cause Identification Tools (Accident Management).
• Ensure the optimal functioning of the fire system.
• Coordinate the training and updating of the emergency brigade and HSE Core Team.
• Coordinate activities related to the HSE requirements.
• Train staff in terms of safety and health.
• Coordinate the activities of environmental and safety consultants (included Risk Studies).
• Follow up on the audits of the HSE comitee.
• Ensure compliance with the code of ethics and code of administration with the responsibility of reporting any incident and acting accordingly in accordance with the group's regulations.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations on environmental and industrial safety matters.
• Promote the supervision of activities of contractors and suppliers in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective actions of unsafe conditions detected in the plant.
• Participate in accidents investigations that occur.
• Take action on unsafe acts detected both with the company's personnel and with personnel, contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinate the application of the necessary work environment studies (noise, lighting, dust, etc.)
• Participate in the PMS of new projects.
• Respect the company's safety and health regulations, using and promoting the personal protective equipment that corresponds to the workplace.
• Actively participate in accident prevention and safety improvements.
• Involvement in the prevention, control and reduction of occupational risks and environmental pollution associated with the workplace.   
• Ensure that staff know and act according to each emergency that may arise in the Plant.                                     
• Comply with the HSE FCE Policies.
• Be an auditor of the HSE requirements.  
• Ensure that the environmental and occupational health and safety management systems are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including national and international requirements.
• Foster an HSE culture with all employees of the company, including contractors and visitors.
•  Participate as intern auditor for the HSE requirements (Eventually). 
• This position has the authority and is a responsibility to stop any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to the safety, health of employees, and/or the environment.
• Comply with the provisions established in the procedures of the HSE responsibilities.
• Not carrying out activities that could generate a significant environmental impact.
• Do not engage in unsafe acts.
• In the case of Activities with risk of damage to the environment and / or the integrity of the personnel, the activity must be stopped (STOP WORK).
• Ensure the purchase of materials necessary for the operation of the health and safety requirements of the department.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level: Bachelor of business management, engineering (industrial, chemical, mechanical), health sciences or environmental or related. HSE specialization (desirable).

Experience:

• At least 3 years of prior experience in automotive industry or related areas.
• Attention to government inspections and audits in health and safety matters.
• HSE requirements and regulations management.
• Health, safety and environment management systems audits contribution.
• Ergonomic assessment for manual operations.
• Machines safety assessment.

Skills and competencies

• Knowledge of HSE tools and methods.
• Solving problems method knowledge.
• Risk assessment analysis development.
• Emergency response and control management, including the use of equipment and systems use.
• Results orientation.
• Basic knowledge of IATF 16949.
• Teamwork.
• English communication.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican health, safety and environmental standards.
