Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Join FORVIA as Sr. HSE Specialist and contribute to our commitment to safety, sustainable development, and operational excellence. As a key player in the Health, Safety, Environmental Impact Reduction (HSE) and decarbonization strategy, you'll play a crucial role in achieving our ambition for "zero accidents" and minimal environmental impact and CO2 reduction.

As Sr. HSE Specialist, your key responsibilities will be:

o Coordinate the activities related to the HSE requirements.
o Train the staff in terms of ergonomics, health, and safety.
o Coordinate the activities of environmental, energy and safety consultants (included Risk Studies).
o Ensure compliance with government regulations on environmental, energy and industrial safety matters.
o Promote the supervision of activities of contractors and suppliers in compliance with safety, energy and environmental standards.
o Coordinate preventive and corrective actions of unsafe conditions detected in the plant.
o Take action on unsafe acts detected both with the company's personnel and with personnel, contractors and suppliers.
o Coordinate the application of the necessary work environment studies (noise, lighting, dust, etc.)
o Participate in the launching of new projects that impact in ergonomics, health, and safety.o Respect the company's safety and health regulations, using and promoting the personal protective equipment that corresponds to the workplace.
o Involvement in the prevention, control and reduction of occupational risks and environmental pollution associated with the workplace.    
o Comply with the HSE FCE Policies.
o Be an auditor of the HSE requirements, this includes health, safety, environment and CO2 matters.    
o Support in the maintenance and implementation of HSE systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and others) including national and international requirements.
o Foster an HSE culture with all employees of the company, including contractors and visitors.
o This position has the authority and is a responsibility to stop any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to the safety, energy, health of employees, and/or the environment.
o STOP any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to the employees, the environment, and the property.
o Support in strategic plans for the improvement and reductions of energy consumption and CO2 emissions toward neutrality in the company’s scope.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Bachelor of business management, engineering (industrial, chemical, mechanical), health sciences or environmental or related. HSE specialization (desirable).

Experience:
o At least 5 years of prior experience in automotive industry or related areas.
o Attention to government inspections and audits in health, safety, and environment matters.
o HSE requirements and regulations management.
o Environmental management systems audits contribution.
o Ergonomic assessment for manual operations.
o Machines safety assessment.
o Leading interdisciplinary teams for HSE projects.

Skills and competencies
o External audit management: ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 (desirable)
o Knowledge of HSE tools and methods.
o Solving problems methos knowledge.
o Risk assessment analysis development.
o Emergency response and control management, including the use of equipment and systems use.
o Basic knowledge of IATF 1694
o English communication.
o Strong knowledge of Mexican health, safety, energy, and environmental standards.
o Strong knowledge and identification of environmental aspects and impacts.
