Your mission, roles and responsibilities

General Objective of the Position

 

Develop, maintain, and improve the plant’s automation systems, ensuring the operational continuity of production processes through the programming, diagnostics, and optimization of industrial control equipment, thereby contributing to the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

Attend the shift kickoff meeting (Top 5).
Comply with internal regulations, safety rules, and established policies.
Ensure the availability and reliability of automated equipment, PLCs, robots, and control systems.
Increase productivity by optimizing cycles and reducing downtime.
Implement technological improvements to meet production, quality, and safety metrics.
Validate safety systems in robotic cells and manufacturing equipment.
Lead automation projects for new product launches, line transfers, or line expansions.
Provide specialized technical support for complex control system failures.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards, customer requirements, and lean manufacturing principles.
Analyze, implement, and validate program/equipment modifications resulting from engineering changes.
Assist with QRCI analyses and provide information.
Monitor suppliers regarding the receipt, installation, repair, and release of equipment.
Manage and control modifications to PLC programs.
Collaborate with IT on the validation of shop-floor systems.
Provide technical support for the IJ Core traceability system.
Comply with Faurecia’s System of Excellence standards.
Maintain the 5Ss in the work area.
Attend training sessions and apply the knowledge gained.
Comply with the code of ethics and report violations.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Experience

 

3 years of industry experience in a similar position.
Programming and troubleshooting Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.
Programming and troubleshooting FANUC, ABB, and KUKA robots.
Programming with HMI and SCADA systems.
Use of communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, DeviceNet).

 

Required Knowledge / Skills

 

English: basic to advanced level.
Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
Interpretation of electrical diagrams.
Operation of FANUC, ABB, and KUKA robots.
Programming and interpretation of Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen Bradley Studio 5000 PLCs.
HMI and SCADA systems.
Vision systems: Keyence (defect detection, barcode and Data Matrix reading).
Vision systems: Cognex (preferred).
Servo motors and servo drives.
Industrial safety systems (programming and knowledge of components).
IJ Core traceability system.
Core Tools (preferred).
