Your mission, roles and responsibilities
We are looking for an Engineering Change Engineer to join our team in San Luis Potosí. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and effective implementation of engineering changes within assigned programs, coordinating change requests, managing BOM audits, and supporting the transition from program launch to serial production.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in SAP and engineering change management with the ability to work cross-functionally with customers, manufacturing teams, and program management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of engineering changes for assigned programs.
- Evaluate and implement Change Requests in collaboration with the Serial Program Manager.
- Configure and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP for serial production and new projects.
- Ensure engineering changes are accurately reflected in all relevant systems and documentation.
- Support the transition of BOMs from Program to Serial Production.
- Analyze the feasibility of engineering changes and define implementation timing.
- Coordinate Production Trial Runs (PTRs) and support validation activities.
- Lead engineering change meetings and track action plans to completion.
- Collaborate with customers to define and implement clean points related to engineering changes.
- Participate in product engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure production documentation is updated, including:
- PFMEA (AMEF)
- Control Plans
- PPAP documentation
- Configure new part numbers in production systems.
- Support productivity improvement initiatives focused on OEE and scrap reduction.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Or a related technical field
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry in a similar role.
- Experience managing engineering changes within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP and BOM management.
- Customer-facing experience.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings.

- SAP BOM creation and maintenance.
- SAP Master Data management.
- SAP Production Routing configuration.
- Engineering Change Management processes.
- Customer portal management (Ford, GM, Honda, JD, Volkswagen, Nissan, BMW).
