Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Respect and comply with the plant’s mission and values, as well as implement and develop preventive safety measures. Ensure compliance with applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental laws, regulations, and standards, as well as Faurecia’s established Health, Ergonomics, Environmental, and Safety policies and rules.
 

As HSE Engineer, your key responsibilities will be:

 

  • Develop, review, communicate, comply with, and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Maintain procedures for hazard identification and risk assessment, as well as environmental aspect and impact identification.
  • Maintain procedures to identify, review, and communicate legal and other applicable requirements for management systems (Health, Safety, and Environment).
  • Report objectives and goals results to the entire organization.
  • Receive, review, and respond to external communications and inquiries (with prior Plant Management approval).
  • Develop procedures required by standards within their scope of responsibility.
  • Coordinate the emergency response system (brigades).
  • Prepare compliance and follow-up reports on management systems (Health, Safety, and Environment) for Plant Management.
  • Coordinate compliance with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and report the performance of the integrated management system to top management for review and continuous improvement.
  • Top management must assign responsibility and authority to:

     

    • Ensure the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system complies with the requirements of this standard.
    • Report the performance of the OH&S management system to top management.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Minimum education level:

  • Industrial Engineering, Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field. Specialization in HSE (preferred).

 

Professional Experience: 

  • 5 years of previous experience in a plant or automotive industry environment.
  • Handling of government inspections and audits related to safety, health, and environment.
  • Knowledge of STPS and SSA regulations.
  • International safety standards.
  • Advanced level of oral and written English. 
  • Ability to apply HSE tools and methods: Risk assessment, Environmental Aspect Identification, Ergonomics.
  • Root cause identification tools (Accident management).
  • Legal requirements (Semarnat, Conagua, STPS, and those applicable to the site).
  • ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, OHSAS 18000.
  • Emergency response and control & safety systems, including emergency brigade management.
  • IATF 16949 (general knowledge).
