Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Overall responsibilities and duties:
The Process Engineer VIE supports the development, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes within the plant. The role contributes to industrial performance, quality, safety, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence while gaining exposure to global automotive manufacturing standards.
The Process Engineer VIE works closely with production, quality, maintenance, logistics, program teams, and central engineering functions to ensure robust and efficient manufacturing processes.
The main missions of the role are:
- Support the design and validation of manufacturing processes for new product launches and industrial transfers.
- Participate in process definition, workstation design, tooling specifications, and manufacturing equipment implementation.
- Contribute to process standardization and deployment of FORVIA manufacturing standards.
- Analyze production performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Environment (SQCDE).
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Support PFMEA, Control Plans, work instructions, and process documentation updates.
- Assist in industrialization activities during program development phases.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Contribute to productivity improvement, waste reduction, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Support audits, process capability studies, and compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and technical reviews with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct benchmarking and technology watch activities to identify innovative manufacturing solutions.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering, or equivalent Engineering Degree.
Experience :
- Initial experience through internships, apprenticeships, or academic projects in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
- Exposure to automotive manufacturing processes is appreciated.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Industrial Performance projects is advantageous.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, assembly processes, automation, or production systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality tools and problem-solving methodologies through academic or project activities.
Skills and competencies
- Technical Skills
- Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
- Process design and industrialization principles.
- Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work).
- Problem-solving techniques (8D, PDCA, Ishikawa, 5 Why).
- Statistical analysis and process capability concepts.
- Basic knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and production equipment.
- Good command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is an advantage.
