Your mission, roles and responsibilities
As a member of the Plant Quality Team, the Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product & process conformity in accordance with the control plan / specification (drawings, norms, internal and external customer agreements) / CSR / Forvia standards and the right application of the quality principles and is responsible for the interface between the customer and the plant for any quality matters. He/She ensures the application of the Automotive Industry Quality Core Tools, such as APQP, Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, APQP, PPAP, Problem solving (8D), etc. and the 8 Quality Basics (8QB). They represent the customer voice into the plant. Be in charge of getting customer’s approval (PPAP, deviation, transfer, …). He/She shall provide coaching and training to meet internal and external customer requirements. The Plant Quality Engineer will support the quality department activities and promote continuous improvement of current processes.
Responsibilities:
- Represents the customer within the plant and acts accordingly within his assigned production lines.
- Keep all quality documentation updated within his assigned production lines, and ensure consistency between PFMEA, control plan and work instructions according to the Faurecia Core Procedures system.
- Organizes Control plan updates - meeting with the entire team
- Active participation in the creation or updates of P-FMEA meetings
- Implement the necessary quality operating tools and methods to demonstrate process stability and operator’s qualification: master/boundary samples, green/red rabbits for Poka-Yoke verification, gages, Capability studies, Gage R&R analysis, product audit checklist, 1st part release, Quality alerts, etc.
- Coach and train the Quality auditors, Quality inspectors and operator/GAP leaders/supervisors on the 8 Quality Basics, Customer specifics requirements.
- Communicate warranty claims with engineering department and warranty group and follow up with the plant’s corrective action plans for the claims. Securing and preparing all necessary documents and information for the Warranty Department
- Lead communication channels with clients tracking improvement or client requisition not only claims
- Prepare internal/external deviation requests with supporting data and submit for approval.
- Support the Program Quality Leader (PQL) to submit new model program PPAP to the customer. Subsequent serial life PPAP for engineering changes, process changes or in-sourcing, the annual (or frequence acc. Customer requirements) requalification the responsibility of the Plant Quality Engineer.
- Support in the Quality Management System (QMS), e.g. control of documents, Lead in Safety & Regulatory (S&R) activities within his perimeter.
- Capitalizes new knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site.
- Responsible to train the involved personnel (operators/Gap leader / Supervisor / Staff Team) in S/R concerns – Ensuring the annual necessary test for S/R employees and evaluation op personnel.
- Preparation and execution of S/R audit.
- Management and continuous updating of customer portals
- Lead of the Auditors (responsible for the area)
- Preparation and review of annual audits (product)
- Preparation (of audit) and review of product audit according customer requirements (VDA or AIAG) and follow up with PDCA
- Conduct internal quality audit (process, product as planes and support internal and external quality audit as needed and follow up with PDCA)
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Education level: Engineer Bachelor, Industrial Engineer, Machanical Engineer and/or related degree or developed competence.
Language: English 70% reading, speaking, and writing
Knowledge of CSR (Customer Specific Requirements), Quality systems (ISO-14001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, VDA 6.3, Core Tools), Interpretation of control charts, interpretation of drawings and standards (GD&T), control plans and FMEA, direct interaction with customers, problem-solving methodologies.
Required knowledge: IATF quality standards, statistical tools for process control (control charts, calculation of Cp and Cpk), advanced quality planning and control plans (preparation and interpretation), preparation and interpretation of FMEA, 8D and 7-step corrective action methodologies, interpretation of dimensional reports, handling of gauging instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.), audits of IATF, quality management systems and specific customer requirements. PPAP, training in Control Plan, training in MSA, training in SPC, training in statistics.
