Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Our Faurecia Clarion Electronics (FCE) Business Group is looking for a Senior System Engineer who will support stakeholder specification analysis, system architecture development and maintenance, and overall requirements traceability, consistency, and coverage as well as will engage in meaningful challenges and impactful projects, including:
- Review stakeholder needs and specifications, including customer, platform, manufacturing, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, design documentation, use cases, and supporting materials.
- Collaborate with the System Architect to develop solutions that address scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and reliability needs.
- Support functional analysis and assist in breaking down system requirements into system elements with proper requirement allocation.
- Work with the System Architect to design, document, and maintain System Architecture as project scope and requirements evolve.
- Support the definition of architecture levels, including static and dynamic system behavior.
- Develop sequence diagrams describing system events and interactions.
- Support the definition of system performance and resource-consumption objectives.
- Assist in allocating system requirements to architecture elements.
- Support planning and estimation of architecture-related deliverables.
- Help development teams understand architecture through presentations, workshops, and technical discussions.
- Conduct impact assessments for proposed system changes and provide technical recommendations.
- Identify, assess, and support management of system and project risks through resolution.
- Analyze, track, and support resolution of system issues.
- Support adaptation of standard processes to meet project requirements.
- Assist the Program Cybersecurity Leader and System Architect in reviewing and defining customer cybersecurity requirements.
- Lead and facilitate System DFMEA activities in collaboration with the System Architect and project team.
- Drive continuous improvement of System Architecture to optimize performance and quality.
- Participate in project and customer architecture reviews.
- Integrate lessons learned into project planning and execution.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Education: Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably automotive electronics. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of System Engineering fundamentals and concepts.
- Knowledge of automotive product development and testing methodologies, including A-SPICE.
- Experience supporting Product System Architecture in IVI, ADAS, IMS/DMS, Display, and automotive accessories.
- Experience applying UML and SysML modeling techniques to architecture and requirements development.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional vehicle teams and developing integrated system solutions.
- Expertise with IBM tools including Rhapsody, DOORS NG, and EWM.
- Knowledge of automotive safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Understanding of vehicle architecture, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS, I2C, SPI), diagnostics, and interfaces.
- Ability to apply software, hardware, mechanical, and optical domain knowledge to automotive products.
- Experience with automotive embedded systems development.
- Strong understanding of software, hardware, mechanical, and optical architecture concepts.
- Ability to navigate automotive embedded systems to ensure performance and functionality.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Effective customer communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Japanese language proficiency is a plus.
- Customer language proficiency is highly desirable.
