What's the VIE Forvia Program all about?
The VIE Program of Forvia is an international young graduate program, which enables young graduates native from the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28 to work for one of our subsidiary around the world!

What will be your main missions?
Our Forvia Interiors Business Group – Tooling & Equipment Commodity Team in Shanghai is looking for you as a VIE – Commodity Buyer (m/f).
You will join the Tooling & Equipment (T&E) Commodity organization, which manages global sourcing and procurement for equipment such as injection tooling, welding systems, covering & wrapping machines, foaming equipment, robotics and automation, supporting all Interiors programs.
As a core member of the T&E Purchasing team, you are responsible for supporting global sourcing and cost‑optimization for tooling & equipment.
1. Commodity Procurement & Sourcing
Support the sourcing of Tooling & Equipment commodities: injection tools, welding machines, covering/wrapping equipment, robotics, foaming solutions, etc.
Participate in strategy deployment and help optimize supply chains across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Analyze cost structures and support the Buyer/Manager in benchmarking and request‑for‑quotation (RFQ) activities.
2. Supplier Relationship Management
Contribute to supplier evaluations, qualification, and selection, in line with Forvia standards.
Support resolution of supplier issues (quality, capacity, delivery).
Participate in global sourcing activities to identify new suppliers and support the expansion of supplier portfolios in China. [BG T&E Com...y Buyer JD | Word]
3. Contracting & Cost Optimization
Support contract preparation, negotiation follow‑up, and frame agreement updates.
Contribute to savings roadmaps, reverse‑factoring initiatives, and margin improvement projects.
Participate in supplier cost‑reduction workshops and joint‑development initiatives. [BG T&E Com...y Buyer JD | Word]
4. Program & Project Support
Assist Buyers and Commodity Managers in providing sourcing support to programs, including prototype tool procurement and supplier kick‑off coordination.
Collaborate with engineering, program management, and operations to ensure T&E sourcing alignment with program timing and technical requirements.
5. Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate purchasing data (supplier performance, contracts, RFQs, savings tracking).
Prepare status reports, KPI dashboards, and purchasing reviews.
The mission will last 12 months. It can be renewed for another 12 months.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
What you need to join us?
- Master’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business.
First experience in purchasing or manufacturing highly appreciated.
Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.
Analytical mindset, negotiation potential, ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Proactive, structured, committed to learning and taking ownership.
