Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities and Duties

The Controls Engineer is responsible for maintaining all software and program backups related to automated equipment, working through teamwork, continuous improvement, and people development within the framework of the Faurecia Excellence System (FES) and the Being Faurecia culture. The role also promotes environmental protection practices in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements.

Main Missions of the Role

  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and C-TPAT management systems related to maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and development of team members.
  • Ensure and support compliance with applicable Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety system controls within the area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate the procurement of new equipment to ensure manufacturing, maintenance, safety, health, and environmental requirements are met.
  • Contribute, in coordination with the Plant Engineering Department, to defining technical specifications for equipment and facility modifications.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance requirements for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and contribute to the development of standards for equipment repair, startup, and operation.
  • Participate in Production System Efficiency and Quality System Efficiency initiatives to support continuous improvement, proposing and implementing actions that enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality across all facilities.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of equipment software backups required for equipment relocation or modifications.
  • Define and monitor quality, cost, and delivery objectives for external contractors and service providers involved in subcontracting activities, routine and special projects, energy systems, security systems, and related services.
  • Oversee the purchasing and inventory management of spare parts and consumables to minimize downtime.
  • Recommend safety policies and ensure safety controls are tested and reliable.
  • Maintain up-to-date backup documentation and records.
  • Manage and supervise a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required; the above functions are illustrative and not intended to be limiting.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum education level: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering

Experience:

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and training in Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and C-TPAT management systems.
  • Experience in the procurement and maintenance of equipment, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring compliance with manufacturing, maintenance, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to manage technical specifications for equipment installation, preventive maintenance, operation, repair, and commissioning.
  • Experience implementing Production System Efficiency and Quality System improvement actions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing suppliers and external service providers.
  • Inventory management and coordination experience.
  • Knowledge and application of safety policies and controls.
  • Experience with backup documentation and record management.
  • Personnel management experience.
  • Advanced PLC programming knowledge.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
