Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Main Missions of the Role
The Sales VIE is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring the commercial success and profitability of the assigned business.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key customer stakeholders in Purchasing, Engineering and Program Management.
- Regularly visit customers, preparing meeting agendas and documenting outcomes through meeting reports and action plans.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address concerns to strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Ensure clear communication between the customer and internal teams to support business growth and successful project execution.
Commercial Offers and Negotiations
- Prepare competitive commercial offers in response to customer requests within required deadlines.
- Develop a solid understanding of costing files and financial business cases.
- Define target pricing strategies and negotiation approaches in alignment with management expectations.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations to achieve agreed sales objectives while protecting company profitability.
- Ensure compliance with internal contractual guidelines and support risk assessment during negotiations.
Serial Life Management
- Prepare and negotiate commercial responses to Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Assess and manage the impact of engineering changes on piece price, tooling costs and development activities.
- Monitor Variable Cost Margin performance and identify opportunities for profitability improvement.
- Develop and follow commercial productivity initiatives to support margin enhancement.
- Understand local economic conditions, including inflation, exchange rates and market trends, and translate their impact into commercial actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to Sales Administration procedures, including purchase orders, invoicing processes, payment terms and overdue management.
- Manage the commercial aspects of Spare Parts business and support revenue optimization throughout the product life cycle.
Program Management
- Act as Program Sales Leader and actively participate in the Program Core Team.
- Support the preparation of business cases and maintain a clear understanding of Program Business Plans.
- Lead commercial discussions related to program development and customer-driven changes.
- Proactively negotiate Engineering Change Requests and other commercial topics throughout program execution.
- Monitor program profitability and identify necessary corrective actions when required.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Business Performance and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to sales growth, profitability and customer satisfaction targets.
- Support the implementation of commercial best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide accurate reporting and maintain up-to-date commercial information.
- Act in compliance with company policies, processes and ethical standards while representing the organization towards customers.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Education
- Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Engineering graduates with a strong interest in developing a commercial and business-oriented career are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Competencies

Fluent in English; German language skills are highly desirable as German is the primary customer language.
- Understanding of customer business environments, products, market dynamics, and key competitors.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, as well as reporting and data analysis tools.
- Good financial acumen with the ability to understand business cases, costing structures, and profitability drivers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and develop long-term customer relationships.
- International business mindset and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Results-oriented, customer-focused, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functions and contribute to common objectives.
