Job Description: Sr./Adv Engineer – Engineering Performance & Standardization
Location: Bhosari, Pune
Department: Engineering Quality
Reporting To: Manager – Engineering Quality
Job Purpose
To support and be the reference to ensure engineering generic technical set of documents both local and global are defined and meet standard and rules. To lead and animate the audit and monitoring of the generics, focusing on design conformity and reliability. The role also involves generating insightful Power BI reports to monitor and improve engineering performance as well as data maintenance of a dedicated sharepoint site: EEA application.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the process of generic engineering technical documents release
• Review technical engineering documentation for compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory norms, including confidentiality locks.
• Ensure and is responsible of compliance to internal standards of the engineering technical documentation for validation, approval and format ahead of document publication
• Prepare, format and check standard / generic documents submitted per Expert to ensure continuous consistent documents quality and format
• Lead the standard and generic application process by the AFO
• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure strict conformity and reliability in design processes according established rules and procedures
• Collaborate with expert, specialists and system efficiency teams to resolve non-conformities and improve design robustness.
• lead convergence meetings with AFO in case of claim when detection of non-application of processes and standards
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI to track engineering KPIs.
• Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to improve engineering quality and efficiency.
• Present performance data to stakeholders and management with clarity and impact.
• Maintain the set of templates and tools supporting the Generic ecosystem
• Ensure and is responsible to maintain robust, consistent and accurate data in the SharePoint site library application.
• Identify gaps in engineering processes and recommend improvements.
• Support implementation of best practices and standardization across engineering teams.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality globally across region.
• Act as a key point of contact for engineering performance-related queries and initiatives.
Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile.
• Certification in Quality Management or Design Standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Experience
• Minimum 6–8 years of experience in engineering development, design validation, CAD activities within Forvia.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
• Experience in design review and conformity assessment processes.
Skills & Competencies
• Demonstrated autonomy, attention to detail and a proactive approach in his scope of activities
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, design principles, and quality systems.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and data analysis tools, advanced sharepoint site usage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in an international context.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to work autonomously with cross culture relationships
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial engineering sectors.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and CAD tools.
• Ability to train and mentor junior engineers on quality and performance standards.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum education level
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in mechanical/ automobile/ production/ polymer engineering
Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in mechanical/ automobile/ production/ polymer engineering with prior experience of minimum 1 - 2 years in CAD Software (CATIA / IDEAS / UG etc.) and plastics.
- OR GET with minimum 6 - 12 months Faurecia domain experience.
Skills and competencies
- Good communication skills in English.
- Knowledge in relevant engineering domain (Seatings-Complete seat ,interiors, exteriors, acoustics etc) and automobile terminology.
- Good understanding of plastic part design & tooling Knowledge as per GET training syllabus.
- Good knowledge of CAD Methodology and best practices as per GET Training syllabus
