Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring the organization's tax compliance, guaranteeing the accurate determination, calculation, and filing of federal tax obligations.

Tax Compliance and Determination:

  1. Calculate and review monthly and annual taxes (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, withholding taxes, local taxes, among others).
  2. Prepare and file provisional and annual tax returns on time with tax authorities.
  3. Monitor compliance with informational reporting obligations (such as VAT informative returns or related-party disclosures).
  4. Calculate deferred taxes in accordance with applicable accounting standards (such as NIF D-4).
  5. Analyze and reconcile tax-related accounting accounts (creditable VAT, VAT payable, provisional payments, etc.).
  6. Handle inquiries, audits, and reviews conducted by tax authorities.
  7. Stay up to date with tax reforms and changes in tax legislation to assess their impact on the business.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Education:

 

 Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting.

 Preferred: Specialization, certification, or Master’s degree in Tax Law or Taxation.

 

Work Experience:

 

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles within tax departments of medium/large companies or in tax consulting/audit firms (Big Four or recognized firms).

Solid experience in applying and interpreting current tax legislation.

 

Technical Knowledge:

 

Advanced command of tax laws and regulations.

Proficiency in technology tools and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

 

Soft Skills:

Accountability: Strong commitment to precision, meeting deadlines, and taking ownership of the area's results.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex legislation and apply it to practical business cases.

Teamwork: Close collaboration with tax, accounting, treasury, and finance departments.

Attention to Detail: Rigorousness in reviewing figures and legal documents.
