Your mission, roles and responsibilities
The role of a Manufacturing Engineering Manager is to direct and coordinate the Manufacturing Engineer resources in order to ensure optimum capital utilization and project launches for the Uitenhage plant.
The main missions of the role are:
- Direct the manufacturing engineers/ process specialists, in defining technical specifications for new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities including leading the projects launches and production transfers.
- Support continuous improvement efforts: propose and implement continuous productivity, efficiency and quality improvement actions for the facility.
- Support the development of target material & information flow analysis (MIFA) and plant layout.
- Develop capital budget requirements to adhere to established facility standards.
- Ensure the continuous development and coaching of manufacturing engineering team.
- Direct plant manufacturing engineering standard applications and strategic intent.
- Assure compliance of the documented quality system (IATF16949) and promote consistency throughout the organization
- Uphold Faurecia’s Code of Management and Code of Ethics.
- Support the Maintenance manager when required with, repair and preventative maintenance for plant equipment; define and monitor quality/cost/delivery objectives given to external companies when intervening; computer aided maintenance management system for the plant
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Qualification/s
The minimum qualification/s required for this position is/are:
- B degree/Diploma in engineering, with a specialisation in mechanics and automation
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 7 years of maintenance/engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety & Environment skills
- Strong computer knowledge and skills
- Strong people management and interpersonal skills
- Innovation and change management skills
- Able to accommodate ~15% - 20% travel (domestic & international)
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
